Reddit’s Blockchain Rewards Will Migrate to Ethereum by 2021
The popular social blogging platform Reddit has confirmed that its tokenized rewards will migrate onto the Ethereum blockchain later this year. On May 13, Reddit officially revealed its Community Points system, announcing that the feature would be rolled out over two days across “limited communities.” However, the rewards system will operate on a testnet until autumn 2020 at the earliest. Reddit Co-Founder’s Firm Leads $5M Funding Round for Blockchain Game Studio
On March 7, Horizon Blockchain Games announced it has raised $5 million a fundraising round led by Initialized Capital — the investment firm co-founded by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. The raise comes ahead of the release for Horizon’s blockchain-based card game SkyWeaver. In the blog post, Horizon Blockchain Games co-founder Peter Kieltyka stated that the funds will be used to deliver SkyWeaver — the company’s first game — to market. Major United States-based cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service Coinbase is allegedly not letting some users withdraw more than $10 per day. On Feb. 2, a Redditor and self-described Coinbase user reported that Coinbase had put a $10 daily withdrawal limit for some users. The Reddit user, with handle Unholy_Crab1, claims that his subsequent application for higher withdrawal limits was denied by Coinbase.
