Polygon can hit $3.50 in Q4 as MATIC’s 20% weekly rally triggers bull flag setup
Polygon (MATIC) has the potential to reach $3.50 by the end of this year as it charts a pattern that’s starting to resemble a bull flag. In detail, bull flags are bullish continuation patterns that emerge when the price consolidates following a strong move higher. In doing so, the price tends to trend lower while leaving behind a sequence of higher lows and lower lows. A breakout occurs when the price closes above the flag’s upper trendline (or resistance). In other words, the price can rise by as much as the height of the previous uptrend, also known as a …

Ethereum price hits $3,800, boosting bulls' control in Friday's ETH options expiry
Ether (ETH) entered a slightly bullish channel earlier this month and currently, the price is marching toward the $3,800 level. Despite the recent turbulence, Ether bulls are set to bag a $53 million profit on Oct. 15's weekly options expiry. Investors also appear to be disinterested in Ether's recent underperformance versus Bitcoin (BTC) and to date, the altcoin's gains stand at 265%. If Ether manages to stay above $3,600 on Friday, 99% of the $180 million put (sell) options will become worthless. Ethereum smart contract competitors continue to pressure the leading network and at the time of writing, Ethereum's average …

What else is moving as Bitcoin price inches toward a new ATH?
Bitcoin (BTC) is hot and clearly in the hands of bulls. Yes, eventually an exchange-traded fund (ETF) is coming and after that a $100,000, no $120,000, scratch that, $150,000 BTC price will be on the board. Blah, blah, blah. Anyone logging onto crypto Twitter is going to be bombarded with all this bullish drivel straight from the jump and that's great, we’re all happy Bitcoin is doing well. I've been a holder since early 2016 so of course, I’m happy. But, isn’t there more to crypto than just Bitcoin? Aren’t there other assets that are moving? Wouldn’t it be nice …

CME Bitcoin futures open interest hits 8-month high, greater than when BTC price was at $65K
Open interest (OI) for Bitcoin (BTC) Futures trading on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) inched toward a new record high on Oct. 14 as BTC reclaimed its five-month high of $58,550 on BitStamp. The total number of outstanding derivatives contracts on the CME Group's Bitcoin Futures market reached $3.22 billion, just $40 million below its record high logged in Feb 2021, according to data provided by ByBt.com. Nonetheless, the OI came out to be higher than it was at the Bitcoin price's peak in mid-April. In detail, the Bitcoin Futures OI on CME was $3.02 billion on April 14, the …

Polkadot eyes breakout to $75 after DOT price rally sets up classic bullish reversal
Polkadot (DOT) chart technicals suggest it may rally to a new record high near $75 if DOT can manage to close above its $41–$43 range decisively. That’s according to a classic bullish reversal setup known as an inverse head and shoulders (H&S) that forms when the price undergoes three selloffs during a period of market consolidation. Specifically, the pattern contains an initial selloff, followed by a short-term price rally and another — deeper — selloff. That leads to one more small correction to the upside, followed by another selloff that bottoms out near/at the lowest level of the first selloff. …

Elon Musk’s Tesla is already $1 billion in profit from holding Bitcoin
Tesla’s bold foray into the Bitcoin (BTC) market has been paying off in 2021 as BTC’s price has been rallying in October to hit over $58,000 on Oct. 14. Tesla currently holds roughly 43,200 BTC, worth roughly $2.5 billion at today’s prices, according to online monitoring resource Bitcoin Treasuries. This is approximately 65% or $1 billion more than what the carmaker paid in February when Elon Musk’s company revealed that it had added $1.5 billion in BTC to its balance sheet. In Q2, Tesla sold 10% of its Bitcoin holdings — about 46,000 BTC — at a reported average price …

Bitcoin bulls target prices above $58K ahead of Friday’s $820M options expiry
Everyone is talking about a six-figure Bitcoin (BTC) price now that the digital asset has broken out of its multi-month downtrend and confirmed that a bullish trend is in play. If Bitcoin happens to enter a parabolic move toward $110,000, that would finally match PlanB’s Stock-to-Flow model prediction. According to the pseudonymous analyst, the scarcity and valuation of gold and other precious metals and “Elon Musk’s energy FUD and China’s mining crackdown” are a few of the factors responsible for the past five months of 50% or higher inaccuracy in the model. Bulls’ hopes mostly cling to an exchange-traded fund …

Olympus DAO chases a new ATH after fresh bond offerings and partnerships
The rapidly evolving world of blockchain technology offers a wide range of approaches and tokenomic models aimed at solving the blockchain trilemma of creating a decentralized, stable and secure network. One tokenomic model that has seen several variants over the past year is the 'rebase' model, which is designed in a way so that token balances can fluctuate over time depending on changes in the token price and the supply in circulation. Olympus (OHM) is a rebase project that has caught the attention of many in the crypto space over the past six months — in large part thanks to …

Binance Coin eyes $560 next after BNB price 'Cup and Handle' breakout
The ongoing price boom in the Binance Coin (BNB) market is painting a classic bullish chart pattern with an upside target of $560. Dubbed as Cup and Handle, the pattern appears when the price forms an advance that appears like a U-shaped trend (Cup). That follows up with a formation of a descending channel range (Handle). A breakout above the Handle range typically leads to an upside continuation, with a bullish target at a length equal to the Cup's size. So it appears that BNB has undergone a price trajectory that looks like the Cup and Handle pattern. Furthermore, the …

Traders pin Ethereum’s route to new ATH to eventual Bitcoin ETF approval
The price of Ether (ETH) is lagging Bitcoin's (BTC) price action by 13% in October, but is this relevant? To date, the altcoin has still outperformed BTC by 274% in 2021. However, traders tend to be short-sighted and some will question whether the Ethereum network can successfully migrate to proof of stake (PoS) validation and finally solve the high gas fees issue. Moreover, the increasing competition from smart contract networks like Solana (SOL) and Avalanche (AVAX) have been worrying investors: One big problem with the “ETH is ultra sound money” meme is that EIP-1559 only limits the supply of ETH …

Bitcoin price is correcting, but what does futures data show?
Bitcoin had been underperforming against most altcoins ov the past two months, but that trend reversed when its 20% rally pushed its market capitalization to break the $1 trillion mark on Oct. 6. That shifted investors’ attention back to the leading cryptocurrency, and altcoins are currently in the red for the day. The current positive momentum could be dangerous if Bitcoin (BTC) traders become overconfident and abuse leverage to open long positions. To avoid this, traders need to carefully analyze derivatives markets to exclude this risk. Notice above how the altcoin market capitalization increased by 5.8%, while Bitcoin posted a …

Ethereum loses key support level as ETH price falls to two-month lows against Bitcoin
Ethereum’s native token, Ether (ETH), rallied by more than 15% in the first 12 days of October. But, compared to Bitcoin’s (BTC) 30% gains in the same period, the second-largest cryptocurrency is currently in a downtrend when priced in BTC. So far into October (and the fourth quarter of 2021), the ETH/BTC exchange rate has plunged by over 12%, reaching 0.060215 BTC for the first time in more than two months on Oct. 12. The drop also pushed ETH/BTC below one of its longest-standing support zones, the 200-day exponential moving average (200-day EMA; the orange wave), as shown in the …
