Reality show is casting crypto users locked out of their wallets
A casting call for a cable network series may offer crypto users at the end of their rope a way to access tokens locked away — or at least show viewers some of the options available to them. In a LinkedIn post from last month, casting director Jessica Jorgensen called on crypto users who have forgotten their passwords — and presumably their seed phrases — or lost their private keys to wallets with the clock ticking. The series offers consultations from cryptocurrency and cybersecurity experts to help users recover access to their funds. However, it seems participants must be prepared …

DeFi will bring a new golden age for the film industry
With an explosion of video streaming as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and now around $40 billion locked into decentralized finance protocols, it’s time for decentralized finance and the film industry to meet. Film financing is a cumbersome and inefficient system. Investors are the first to put their money in but last to see any return. There is no transparency into how funds are being used during production or how profits are allocated after distribution. Investment decisions are generally based on very little data about what people actually want to watch, so the chances of a film’s success are …

It’s time for Hollywood to move to blockchain — Yes, you read that right
The greatest empires over the course of history have come and gone — the Romans, Greeks, Babylonians, Mongols, Persians, Egyptians, Ottomans and, most recently, the British. Much in the same way that history has recycled the powers of the world, so do cultural and economic institutions around us fall to the same fate. Like these empires that governed their corners of the world, Hollywood dominated its own — the film industry. Audiences have enjoyed the fruits of this cultural empire just as they have enjoyed perks produced from other exclusive clubs. It’s time, however, to open Hollywood to these audiences …

Crypto Gets a Taste of Movie Business, but Is a Long Way From the Red Carpet
From its obscure beginnings over a decade ago to its current status as the leading cryptocurrency in the world, Bitcoin’s (BTC) tale on its own can make up for a pretty entertaining movie. With the prevalence of Bitcoin and blockchain-related topics in mainstream media nowadays, it is perhaps not a surprise that more films mention or highlight cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. For instance, Anthony Mackie, the actor who plays “Hawkman” in the Avengers movies, promoted Litecoin (LTC) last year in a video published by Vanity Fair. Meanwhile, in February, another well-known actor, Jim Parsons, narrated a cartoon version of himself …
