Cryptocurrency wallet provider ZenGo has built a testnet to demonstrate a major security flaw prevalent among decentralized application (DApp) wallets. Messaging Giant Line to Launch Link Token Trading for Japan in April
LVC Corporation, the crypto subsidiary of messaging giant Line, will launch trading of its proprietary cryptocurrency Link in Japan in April. According to a press release on Jan. 30, LVC is also developing a system meant for Link’s debut in Japan on its local cryptocurrency exchange BitMax. Line already began Link trading on its international BitBox cryptocurrency exchange in mid-October 2018. Binance Acquires Decentralized App Information Startup DappReview
Major cryptocurrency exchange Binance acquired decentralized app (DApp) information startup DappReview, according to a press release on Dec. 2. Per the release, DappReview’s platform provides its visitors with data analytics, user insights and information for over 3,900 DApps on 13 public blockchains. Amount of Ether Locked in DeFi Is Growing Despite Price Slump
The number of Ether (ETH) locked in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications reached an all-time high of 2.7 million, according to DeFi monitoring resource DeFiPulse, and has been steadily growing since the end of June. Of the 2.7 million ETH locked, 2.1 million (77%) are locked in the system behind the DAI stablecoin, Maker. Additionally, 337,800 ETH (12.5%) are currently locked in the decentralized lending application Compound. Report: Telegram’s TON Blockchain to Be Compatible with Ethereum DApps
Telegram Open Network’s (TON) blockchain will allow developers to port their Ethereum (ETH) smart contracts. As industry news outlet CoinDesk reported on Aug. 30, software startup TON Labs managed by Telegram’s token offering investors is building a Solidity compiler for its blockchain. This programming language is primarily used to develop smart contracts in the Ethereum network. Coinbase WalletLink Now Lets Clients Use DApps on Desktop Browsers
Crypto exchange Coinbase’s user-controlled Coinbase Wallet has enabled its clients to use decentralized apps (DApps) on any desktop browser through the WalletLink service.
