Boomer on the dancefloor! The 64 yr old Bitcoin breakdancer on investing
One of the world’s oldest competitive “breakers,” or breakdancers, is twisting and shouting Bitcoin (BTC) on dancefloors across the United States. Aged 64, Ben Hart told Cointelegraph he reckons he’s “the world’s oldest actively competing breaker.” For context, Gary Gensler, the Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC Chair, is the same age. But it’s unlikely Gensler will be shredding up the dancefloor wearing Bitcoin jerseys any time soon: Some are asking for more footage of me, the 64-year-old break dancer who wears a #Bitcoin shirt in all his breaking battles. Me last weekend in Chicago. Retweet if you like this! …

The Real Deal? Peter McCormack's Bedford Bitcoin Bet scores more than goals
The Bitcoin Standard has many formations. For some, selling all possessions and living off magic internet money is key; for others, it’s about sweeping every spare penny into Satoshis. For popular podcaster Peter McCormack–an avid football fan–it meant buying his local club and signing Bitcoin (BTC) onto the team sheet. Bitcoin advocate McCormack acquired his hometown football club in December 2021. He renamed and rebranded the club to Real Bedford, and at the ground, Bitcoin qualifies as payment for shirts, drinks and tickets. But with the price of Bitcoin wallowing in the $20,000s, can the ethos behind a falling currency …

Bitcoin core contributor urges maximalists to take a different route
There was once a time when Bitcoin (BTC) was the only crypto project that was not a scam, and advocating for only BTC made perfect sense. However, according to a Bitcoin Core contributor, this has not been true for a while, as he urged the community to drop the us-versus-them culture. In a Twitter thread, Matt Corallo, who contributed to the Bitcoin Core, pointed out to the community that at the moment, instead of BTC proponents advocating why Bitcoin is unique and remarkable, they are spending time attacking other projects. According to Corallo, this situation is leading to what he …

Brazil beams Bitcoin from space: A case for BTC satellite nodes
A Bitcoiner in Brazil has beamed the blockchain from space. Alessandro Cecere, product manager at Ledn and a Venezuelan national, has established the purported first Bitcoin (BTC) satellite full node in Brazil. The full satellite node that Cecere has established downloads the Bitcoin blockchain directly from the Blockstream Satellite Network, negating the need for a reliable internet connection. It’s a small step for Bitcoin’s web of nodes but a giant leap for Bitcoin adoption, evincing that those in remote or hard-to-reach areas could run nodes. A refresher for those new to nodes: A Bitcoin full node is software that continuously …

What did you do in the 2022 bear market, anon? For one Bitcoiner, the opportunity to take on a second job to “stack sats” (buy more Bitcoin (BTC)), was too great. The UK 'Bitcoin Adventure' shows BTC is a family affair
Bitcoin (BTC) is for everyone: toddlers, kids, hard rockers and even racing pigs. At the "Bitcoin Adventure" held in Avon Valley, near Bristol, Bitcoiners and hobbyists shared their knowledge, quips and personal journeys down the Bitcoin rabbit hole despite the predictably wet United Kingdom weather. Better still, Bitcoin's "toxic maximalism" was MIA. pic.twitter.com/7IOtpYuSDh — The Bitcoin Adventure (@TheBTCAdventure) July 3, 2022 A world-first for a Bitcoin meetup, the “Adventure” took place at a wildlife park. Bitcoin payments make a lot of sense for SMEs, but the risks still remain
The last six odd months have seen the cryptocurrency market witness an unparalleled amount of financial volatility, so much so that the total capitalization of this fast-maturing space has dropped from $3 trillion to approximately $1 trillion. This comes after the industry hit all-time highs across the board last November, with Bitcoin (BTC) reaching a price point of $69,000. Despite the previously stated volatility, a recent report shows that small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across nine separate countries, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and the United States, are extremely open to the idea of …
