According to YCharts data, the average transaction fee of Bitcoin (BTC) has dropped from $4.40 to $1.80 this year, a decrease of 57.97%. This rise may be attributed to a variety of factors. One explanation is that the fast expansion of the Bitcoin Lightning Network, in which transactions are off the blockchain, may have been a catalyst. For perspective, the Bitcoin network charges a fee for each transaction. This payment is then divided between miners. When the network is congested and demand for transaction processing far surpasses the supply of miners, users frequently pay more. On April 21, the average …
In the early hours of July 14, Bitcoin price took a surprise hit to $31,550 before slowly recovering back above $32,900 in the morning session. The swift drop near the crucial $30,000 resistance raised alarms among bulls and bears and whilst the $30,000 to $32,000 level continues to function as a support level, a recent market update from ByteTree CEO James Bennett paints a mixed picture of what may be in store for BTC. According to analysis from Bennett, the price of Bitcoin has stabilized near the $34,000 level due to a reduction in miner selling and an increase in …
Has the crypto industry developed any type of solution for such transactions? Crypto auctions, algorithmic trading and over-the-counter (OTC) desks are designed to transfer large amounts of crypto. In cases when you want to trade your crypto assets directly, without splitting them into parts and calculating fees, the daily auction held by Gemini — a U.S.-based, regulated crypto exchange — is a popular way to do that. Orders are currently available for five major currencies — Bitcoin, Ether, Zcash, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. Another solution is to use trading bots to automate the process of splitting transactions. For instance, TradeSanta …
Got some Satoshi to send or Bitcoin (BTC) wallets to reorganize? It’s increasingly cheap to do so. According to an Arcane Research report, Bitcoin “transaction fees have stayed low since July 2021, showing no signs of rising.” There was, however, a small bump in transaction fees last week. Shown as a small jump at the tail end of the graph, clustering of the mempool pushed “up the average transaction fees per day over the past seven days to $691,000, a doubling since last Tuesday.” Nonetheless, the doubling in transaction fees is insignificant: transaction fees remained in a low range. Miners …
The price of Bitcoin (BTC) has been on the decline again recently, but new insights from blockchain analytics firm Glassnode show that up to 75% of Bitcoin addresses are in profit. In its Week-On Chain report published on Monday, April 11, Glassnode analyzed the number of Bitcoin wallets that are in profit and found that around 70% to 75% of addresses are seeing an unrealized profit, much higher than the 45% to 50% of addresses during the 2018 bear market. Commenting on the findings, the Glassnode analysts added that the current bear market is nowhere near as bad as previous …
