Iran Plans to Allow Crypto Mining, Central Bank of Iran Governor Says
Iranian authorities are planning to authorize cryptocurrency mining, as the governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) declared, international Iranian news agency PressTV reported on July 10. CBI governor Abdol Hemmati reportedly claimed that the Iranian government has approved some parts of an executive law that would authorize mining of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) in Iran. Hemmati’s claim follows a lengthy back-and-forth on the legal status of cryptocurrencies in Iran. Abkhazia Develops Draft Law on Crypto Mining
The Ministry of Economy of the partially-recognized Republic of Abkhazia has developed a law draft on the settlement of cryptocurrency mining activities in the country. The news was reported by a local branch of Russian state-backed media outlet Sputnik on June 24. The press service of the Ministry told Sputnik that the drafted bill was approved and sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic. China’s State Macroeconomic Planning Agency Mulls Ban on Crypto Mining
China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), a state planning agency charged with spearheading macroeconomic policies, has revealed it is considering the elimination of crypto mining in the country. The news was reported by Reuters on April 9. The NDRC has reportedly now included crypto mining as part of its draft for a revised list of industrial activities the agency intends to curtail. French Stock Market Watchdog Blacklists 21 Cryptocurrency and Crypto-Asset Websites
French stock market regulator, the Autorite des Marches Financiers (AMF), announced it is blacklisting 21 new investment websites, including multiple crypto-related sites, September 26.
